Simple is better

well I decided that I still wanted to try my first Idea again. it holds around 20 plants , it pumps for 15 minutes and then drains for 30.

Hers the start up 2 tubs one shallow and just fist inside the other.

A small pump(40gph) and some1/2 inch tubing a few twist ties not shown is the aquarium rocks.

I hooked up the tubing to the pump used a twist tie to crimp the other end closed then made small holes every 3 inches on alternating sides.

I looped it back into a figure 8 put in the plants in and added rocks to fill in the spaces and….

right now its filled with 5 gal of boiled water(to kill the chlorine) but the peat moss is still feeding the plants well back to the air powered system

  1. You may want to call your local water utility (if you are on city water). Many have switched to using chloramine (rather than chlorine). Chloramine is more stable and cannot be boiled (or bubbled) out. I only learned about this a few months ago. I ended up purchasing an inexpensive filter system, just to keep the chloramine from killing off my beneficial biology.

    Hope this helps.

  2. Thanks for the tip I’ll find out I plan on getting a filter of some type soon but I’m getting a few things at a time as I can afforded em
